Consultant Palliative Care

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Consultant in Palliative Care to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this important role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses, focusing on improving their quality of life through pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support.

As a Consultant in Palliative Care, you will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients facing life-limiting conditions. Your expertise will help patients navigate complex medical decisions and enhance their overall well-being.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients with serious illnesses to determine palliative care needs.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Manage pain and other distressing symptoms using a variety of therapeutic interventions.
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families throughout the illness trajectory.
• Facilitate advanced care planning and assist patients in making informed medical decisions.
• Engage in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure comprehensive patient care and communication.
• Educate staff, patients, and families about palliative care principles and practices.
• Involve in quality improvement initiatives and participate in research related to palliative care.

• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Palliative Care or Hospice Medicine.
• Current, unrestricted medical license to practice.
• At least 5 years of experience in palliative or hospice care settings.
• Strong familiarity with pain management and symptom control strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families empathetically.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous education and advancement in palliative care.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
