Consultant Palliative Care (American Board) - Abu Dhabi

🎯 Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and board-certified Consultant in Palliative Care to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will provide expert, patient-centered care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses, focusing on symptom management, psychosocial support, and holistic well-being. Fluency in culturally sensitive communication and multidisciplinary collaboration is essential.
 

🧠 Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
 • Develop and implement individualized care plans using evidence-based palliative practices 
• Provide expert consultation to other healthcare professionals on complex symptom management 
• Facilitate communication among patients, families, and care teams regarding goals of care and treatment options
 • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and hospice teams to ensure continuity of care 
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and palliative care program development
 • Educate patients and families on disease progression, comfort-focused care, and end-of-life planning
 • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards
 

📋 Qualifications & Experience

• Medical degree from an accredited institution 
• Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (American Board or equivalent) 
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in palliative care, preferably in hospital or hospice settings
 • Western-trained background preferred
 • Eligible for DOH Consultant licensure (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) 
• Strong communication, empathy, and cultural sensitivity 
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams

• Tax-free salary: AED 75,000–90,000/month (commensurate with experience)
