Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon - Abu Dhabi

A leading, world‑class ophthalmology facility is seeking an exceptional Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon with advanced expertise in both medical and surgical retina care. The ideal candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering cutting‑edge retinal services and outstanding patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex vitreoretinal surgeries, including pars plana vitrectomy, retinal detachment repair, and management of macular disorders
• Diagnose and treat diabetic retinopathy, age‑related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, and other retinal pathologies
• Conduct laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections, and other advanced therapeutic procedures
• Utilize state‑of‑the‑art retinal imaging technologies such as OCT, FFA, ICG, and wide‑field imaging
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary ophthalmic team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and training initiatives

Requirements

• Tier 1 medical qualifications, such as:
  • American Board Certification
  • UK CCT
  • Canadian Fellowship
  • Australian/New Zealand Fellowship
• Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery from a recognized institution
• Demonstrated excellence in vitreoretinal surgical outcomes and clinical decision‑making
• Eligibility for or possession of a DOH (Department of Health) license
• Strong communication skills and commitment to evidence‑based practice
