Job Description - Data Center Solutions Architect Engineer - White Space

## PRIMARY FUNCTION DESCRIPTION:\n\nEaton\u0027s Global Data Center Segment is focused on helping data centers realize real business benefits today while optimizing their operations for the future. With the rise of big data, edge computing and the cloud, data centers are under pressure to be more high-performing, sustainable and cost-effective than ever, without compromising resilience or security. With our digital intelligence, world-class cyber-secure products and services, reliable, compatible solutions and engineering expertise, we help data centers realize real business benefits today while optimizing their operations for the future. \n\nAs part of our continued investment in next generation data center technologies, Eaton is expanding its capabilities to support advanced, future ready architectures across both white space (IT halls) and grey space (electrical and mechanical infrastructure).\n\nWithin this segment, Eaton has an opening for a Data Center Solutions Architect Engineer \u2013 White Space. This position plays a critical role in defining, shaping, and delivering advanced data center architectures where standard reference designs may not yet exist. This role sits at the intersection of innovation, applied engineering, and customer engagement. It will be supporting hyperscale, co-location, and EPC partners from early concept through solution definition.\n\n## ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS \u0026 DIMENSIONS:\n\nCustomer Solutions \u0026 Concept Design\n\n * Engage in future data center development, design and architecture to include coordination with R\u0026D teams both internally and customer facing.\n * Engage with customers on early-stage data center opportunities, including projects without established standards or reference architectures.\n * Develop conceptual and system level solutions covering white space environments.\n * Translate customer operational, resiliency, sustainability, and scalability goals into robust electrical architectures.\n * Support technical discussions during pre-sales, design development, and early project phases.\n\n\n\nSystem Architecture \u0026 Engineering Expertise\n\n * Define advanced data center electrical architectures, including utility interconnection, MV/LV distribution, UPS topologies, energy storage, and IT power delivery.\n * Ensure alignment between white space power requirements and upstream grey space infrastructure.\n * Perform detailed technical analyses to evaluate system performance, reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.\n * Provide technical recommendations to optimize footprint, power coordination, and system integration.\n\n\n\nCross Functional Collaboration\n\n * Partner closely with Eaton Centers of Excellence (COEs), Global Product Lines (GPLs), and Business Units (BUs) to align customer solutions with Eaton\u2019s technology roadmap.\n * Collaborate with Design \u0026 Bid, engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure solutions are technically sound and commercially viable.\n * Facilitate technical workshops with customers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to co create solutions.\n\n\n\nStandards, Compliance \u0026 Innovation\n\n * Ensure solutions comply with applicable IEC, EU requirements, and local building codes by working with authorities having jurisdiction.\n * Contribute to the development of Eaton\u2019s global reference architectures, design frameworks, and best practices for next generation data centers.\n * Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving data center standards to drive continuous innovation.\n\n\n\nProject \u0026 Lifecycle Support\n\n * Provide technical support during project execution, including site reviews, engineering evaluations, and electrical audits as required.\n * Support early Eaton system approvals by vendors (AVL) for programmatic or large-scale deployments.\n * Assist field engineers during commissioning and startup activities when needed.\n\n\n\n## POSITION CRITERIA::\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum 3 years of work experience with data center electrical systems, covering white space environments.\n * Proficiency in English; additional languages (e.g., Arabic) are a plus.\n * Strong understanding of power system architectures, redundancy concepts, and integration between electrical and mechanical systems.\n * Experience with UPS systems, MV/LV distribution, energy storage, and critical power infrastructure.\n * Ability to lead technical discussions and conceptual design workshops with customers.\n * Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering workflows, and modern data center design tools is an advantage.\n * Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.\n * Customer focused mindset with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor.\n\n\n\nWHAT WE OFFER YOU :\n\n * Being part of a company that has been in business for more than 100 years, is well known in the industry, and has a major impact on the energy industry\n * Annual mentoring program, Eaton University, a reward, and recognition system\n * Ongoing Learning and Career Development Opportunities in a global company.
