Description

The Director of Admission and Registration is responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the University's admission, registration, academic records, scheduling, and graduation services. The role ensures the efficient, accurate, secure, and timely administration of student lifecycle processes while maintaining full compliance with University regulations and accreditation standards. 


The Director leads the University's digital transformation initiatives within the Admission and Registration function by optimizing student information systems and digital services, enhancing operational efficiency, improving student experience, and supporting institutional excellence through reliable data governance, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.


The Director of Admission and Registration directly reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. 



Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership



  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Admission and Registration Department in alignment with the University's Strategic Plan.

  • Establish departmental goals, objectives, KPIs, and annual operational plans.

  • Develop policies, procedures, and operational guidelines governing admission, registration, academic records, and graduation.

  • Ensure continuous improvement of departmental services through innovation and best practices.


  • Lead departmental budgeting, resource planning, and workforce management.


     



Admissions Management



  • Oversee all undergraduate and postgraduate admission operations.

  • Ensure admission decisions comply with University regulations and Ministry requirements.


  • Monitor admission targets and enrollment trends.


     



Registration and Academic Records



  • Direct all student registration activities in accordance with the approved academic calendar.

  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of student academic records.

  • Supervise course registration, add/drop periods, withdrawals, deferments, reinstatements, transfers, and graduation eligibility.

  • Ensure timely issuance of transcripts, enrollment certificates, graduation documents, and academic verifications.

  • Oversee degree audit and graduation clearance processes.


 


Academic Scheduling



  • Lead the preparation and publication of the University's academic calendar.

  • Oversee course scheduling, classroom allocation, examination schedules, and final examination planning.

  • Coordinate scheduling activities with colleges and academic departments.

  • Monitor classroom utilization and scheduling efficiency.


Digital Transformation



  • Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of Student Information Systems (SIS) and other academic digital platforms.

  • Promote automation of admission, registration, records management, graduation, and student services.

  • Collaborate with the Information Technology Department to implement digital solutions that improve operational efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow optimization.


Data Management and Institutional Reporting



  • Establish robust data governance practices for student information.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and compliance.

  • Produce institutional reports supporting executive leadership and decision-making.


 


Leadership and Management



  • Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Admission and Registration staff.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

  • Identify training needs and support staff development.

  • Promote a student-centered service culture.



Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Management, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in university admission and registration or academic administration.

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial position.

  • Experience working within higher education institutions accredited by recognized accreditation bodies.

  • Demonstrated experience managing Student Information Systems (e.g., Blackboard, Banner, Ellucian, or similar).

  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience with academic scheduling, graduation audits, and institutional reporting.

  • Knowledge of UAE higher education regulations is highly desirable.
