•Conducts pre-placement healthscreening examinations and consultation of all current and newemployees
•Serves asresource for all employees requiring medical, physical, andpsychological assistance or referrals
•Injury/illness review and first aidtreatment of employees injured or exposed to communicable diseasesor chemical hazards while at work -- Workers Compensation casemanagement
•Absencemanagement (medical leave of absence)
•Ergonomic worksite assessments,Employee Wellness initiatives
•Serves as injury coordinator and casemanager for all employees sustaining a work-related injury orillness. Includes evaluating and investigating all employeeinjuries and illnesses. Treats nonemergency cases and refers thoserequiring medical attention.
•Communicates with physicians, asneeded, to identify health problems; assists with or recommendsappropriate follow-up as needed.
•Provides health counseling foremployees with special health care needs regarding their joblimitations, post exposures and illnesses.
•Reviews completed physical andcommunicates abnormal findings or need for follow-up withemployee.
•Communicates with the PerformanceImprovement Department in the investigation of communicable diseaseexposure to Hospital employees
•Coordinates a program of annual healthrequirements and competencies for all employees and monitors itscompletion
•Tuberculosis skintesting:
•Screensall prospective employees and performs/interprets tuberculosis skintesting with appropriate follow-up as applicable
•Performs and interprets tuberculosisskin testing/education update on all employeesannually.
•Providesfollow-up care/referrals to employees requiring treatment forpositive skin tests.
•Contacts injured employees at leastweekly and more often as appropriate.
•Maintains an Employee Health file forevery employee.
•Ensures completeness of medicalhistory form prior to scheduled exam.
•Maintains an up-to-date record ofemployee medical leaves, illnesses, injuries and vaccinations(absence management), Enters all occurrences into EmployeeOccurrence log (i.e. OSHA 300 log) within six days of date ofinjury.
•Reviews andtracks all employee exposures.
•Consults with compensation carrierregularly to update worker's health and claimstatus.
•Files firstnotice of injury to worker's compensation carrier withinseven days of date of injury on any lost time or medical treatmentclaims.
•Maintains asafe, hygenic JCI standard unit environment
PositionQualification:
•3-4 year Basic NursingDiploma/Degree
•PostGraduate Degree in Nursing Management/Advanced ClinicalSpeciality
