Purpose:
To supervise technicians and contractor personnel engaged in mechanical maintenance work at Metering and Regulating Stations and on the pipeline network with the objective of assuring plant and network availability to receive and deliver gas to customers safely and on-time in accordance with EMARAT’s standard operating procedures, health, safety and environmental polices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that all preventative maintenance/inspection/safety procedures and checks are carried out in accordance with the established department policy; provides recommendations to optimize plant availability, efficiency and safety
• Monitor pipeline condition monitoring programme to demonstrate the fit-for-purpose of each section of pipeline at their designated maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP); reports any deterioration in condition which requires attention
• Monitor work of contractors to ensure all work is carried out in accordance with No Objection Certificate (NOC)
• Maintain proper records of all repair/maintenance work and spare parts used for each item of machinery/equipment
• Initiate requisitions for the acquisition of urgently required spare parts and tools, and raises necessary Local Purchase Order through the Oracle system
Quality & Excellence Management:
• Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures for mechanical systems and components to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of mechanical designs and manufacturing processes to verify adherence to quality specifications and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality management activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within mechanical engineering operations.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on quality management practices, standards, and tools related to mechanical engineering.
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with mechanical systems, ensuring that potential quality issues are identified and addressed early in the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and present quality performance metrics and reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement and progress on quality initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Required: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) are advantageous.
Experience;
Minimum of 3-5 years in mechanical engineering in Natural Gas Operations.
