FinOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced FinOps professional with strong Microsoft Azure expertise to lead cloud financial management and cost optimization initiatives. The role focuses on establishing and driving the FinOps framework on Azure, optimizing cloud spend, and ensuring cost efficiency for SAP workloads while aligning technology, finance, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and maturity of the FinOps framework on Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize Azure cloud costs across multiple environments and subscriptions.
• Design and enforce cost governance models, including budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
• Establish and manage tagging strategies for accurate cost allocation and chargeback/showback.
• Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives such as right-sizing, reserved instances, and savings plans.
• Partner closely with engineering, SAP, finance, and business teams to promote cost-aware decision-making.
• Analyze and optimize SAP workloads running on Azure, ensuring a balance between performance and cost.
• Identify cost inefficiencies, unused resources, and optimization opportunities, and lead remediation actions.
• Build and present cost reports, dashboards, and insights to senior stakeholders.
• Support long-term cloud financial planning and forecasting.

• 3–4 years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, or Cloud Cost Optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Cost Management & Billing.
• Proven experience in setting up and operationalizing a FinOps framework on Azure.
• Experience working with SAP workloads hosted on Azure.
• Solid understanding of cloud pricing models and optimization strategies.
• Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
