Landscape Draftsman

A Landscape Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed landscape drawings, plans, and technical documentation for residential, commercial, hospitality, and public realm projects. The role involves translating landscape architects’ and designers’ concepts into accurate CAD drawings, construction details, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and as-built documentation while ensuring compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed landscape drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and construction details using AutoCAD and other drafting software.
  
• Develop hardscape and softscape layouts, planting plans, irrigation drawings, and landscape construction documents.
  
• Produce shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings for landscape projects.
  
• Interpret design concepts, sketches, specifications, and technical requirements provided by landscape architects and engineers.
  
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, irrigation specialists, and project teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
  
• Prepare quantity take-offs and assist in material estimation for landscape works.
  
• Update drawings based on design revisions, site conditions, and client requirements.
  
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and company drafting standards.
  
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  
• Support site teams by providing technical drafting assistance during project execution and handover.
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or certification in Drafting, Landscape Design, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Civil 3D, Revit, or other relevant drafting and modeling software.
  
• Strong understanding of landscape construction, planting design, irrigation systems, and site development works.
  
• Ability to read and interpret landscape design drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  
• Knowledge of hardscape materials, planting schedules, and irrigation layouts.
  
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  

Experience:

• Typically 2–5 years of experience in landscape drafting and design documentation.
  
• Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, parks, public realm, or infrastructure landscape projects is preferred.
  
• Familiarity with GCC/UAE landscape standards, municipality requirements, and construction practices is an advantage.
