Job description:
The role:
A private family of 6 based in Dubai is looking for an experienced Private Chef to join their household on a full-time basis. The position is based in a recently built luxury private villa, featuring a brand-new, high-end kitchen with top-quality appliances.
The family is looking for an exceptional chef with a strong background in fine dining and Michelin-starred establishments, combined with proven experience working as a Private Chef in a private household.
This is a 6-day-per-week position, primarily focused on dinner service, with a few lunches required each week. Flexibility is essential, as the chef must adapt to the family's schedule and preferences. The role is a sole chef cooking for the family and later will evolve and integrate a kitchen helper/sous chef to assist the main chef. The expected start date is ASAP.
Food and cuisine preferences:
The family enjoys refined Mediterranean, Lebanese and Levantine cuisine, with a particular appreciation for Middle Eastern flavours and the Ottolenghi style of cooking. Excellent knowledge of French and Italian cuisine is equally important, with an emphasis on healthy, balanced and beautifully presented dishes.
Service is exclusively focused on small plates, either individually served or designed for sharing. Traditional family-style service is not required. Every dish must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, creativity, precision and refined presentation.
The principal has a strong appreciation for food and expects the chef to discuss menus, ingredients, cooking techniques and new ideas directly with them. The chef should be confident in proposing creative menus while understanding and respecting the family's preferences.
Ingredient quality is extremely important. The chef will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing the finest available produce, meat, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients. There is no fixed food budget or spending cap, with quality always taking priority.
There are no known food allergies at this stage. Full dietary information and detailed preferences will be shared with selected candidates.
Contract and package:
This is a full-time, employed position based in Dubai, working 6 days per week with one day off per week. Dinner service is required 6 days per week, with additional lunch services on several days depending on the family's requirements.
The salary offered is AED 25,000 to 28,000+ net per month, (approximately €6,100 to €7,000+), depending on experience and profile.
The package includes 30 days of paid annual leave, one return flight to the chef's home location per year, medical insurance and visa sponsorship.
The family will also provide accommodation for the first 6 to 8 weeks to help the successful candidate settle in Dubai and arrange their own long-term accommodation.
A trial lasting 2 to 3 days will be organised for selected candidates, with all trial-related expenses covered by the family.
Additional information:
The principal is a successful self-made entrepreneur who values hard work, professionalism, discipline and attention to detail. The family expects the same standards from their Private Chef. Presentation and professionalism are essential throughout the role. This includes personal presentation, food presentation, kitchen organisation, cleanliness, equipment maintenance and the overall standard of daily service.
The successful candidate must have experience in fine dining and Michelin-starred kitchens, together with a proven background in private households. Strong technical skills, excellent organisation, discretion and the ability to communicate confidently with the principal are essential.
The villa has recently been completed, and the kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-range appliances. The chef will be expected to complete the kitchen setup, selecting and purchasing any additional specialist equipment, tools or appliances needed to deliver the highest possible standard of cuisine.
The family is looking for someone who takes genuine pride in every aspect of their work, from ingredient selection and preparation to the final presentation of each plate and the condition in which the kitchen is maintained.
Selected candidates will undergo a full background check arranged by the family office. They must be able to provide professional diplomas, a valid driving licence, relevant employment documentation and supporting professional references. Full details about the employers, their lifestyle and dietary preferences will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
