A well established construction business is looking for a Head of HR to join its Sharjah office.
As the HR Head, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing human resources strategies to support organizational goals. You'll oversee all HR functions, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the construction sector. You will also support the implementation of HR modules in a new ERP system.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support the objectives and overall company mission. Collaborate with senior management to align HR initiatives with business goals.
- Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent for various construction roles. Implement effective onboarding programs and talent development initiatives to foster employee growth and retention.
- Performance Management: Establish performance management systems to evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career development. Ensure performance metrics are aligned with project objectives and industry benchmarks.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor and mediator for employee relations issues, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment. Address grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Compensation and Benefits: Oversee compensation and benefits programs tailored to the needs of construction personnel. Monitor industry trends and benchmarks to ensure competitive pay structures and attractive benefits packages.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Partner with health and safety teams to enforce compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety across construction sites. Develop training programs to enhance awareness and mitigate risks.
- HR Administration: Manage HR administrative tasks, including payroll processing, employee records maintenance, and policy updates. Utilize HRIS systems to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in HR leadership roles within the construction sector is a MUST
- In-depth knowledge of employment law, safety regulations, and HR best practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize competing demands.
