The Commercial Team is looking to hirea Senior Compliance & Data Protection Managerwho understands the importance of MakingIt Right and Making It Easy and Making it Happen ,together.Our ideal candidate is someone who is knowledgeable and passionateabout compliance and data protection whilst understandingPaymentology s business and the industry it operatesin.

We are looking for someone with strongcompliance and data protection knowledge on a global scale and theability to meaningfully apply this to our business without unduedisruption. We are not looking for a person that is going toimplement numerous policies and processes just for compliance'ssake.

You will need to be product and operationsfocused - and be willing and able to learn and collaborate withother teams and acquire good knowledge of our payments platformsand any other systems that make our products work. This isessential to being able to apply your compliance and dataprotection knowledge to our actual products and not just genericcompliance rules. The focus should be client oriented - how do wemake it happen for clients while ensuring that our products arecompliant and meet the necessary regulatoryrequirements.

You will need to guide the businessto efficiently navigate the compliance and data protectionlandscape to make sure we can grow our business and products, in acompliant manner. You will also need to be able to speak thelanguage of your more formal compliance counterparts in banks andother financial institutions, to be able to give them comfort thatwe have our compliance inorder.

• Designing and maintaining acompliance framework that meets the needs of thebusiness.
• Working with our partner banks on anycompliance related matters that the banks areraising.
• Interpreting compliance and dataprotection requirements and finding solutions that meet bothPaymentology s product requirements and external partyrequirements.
• Training staff internally so thatthey are aware of the compliance and data protection issues andhave an understanding of why things areneeded.
• Research regulatory requirements in thedifferent regions that we work in and update internal teamsaccordingly.
• Manage and drive any complianceaudits that external parties (e.g. audits conducted by our clientsor partner banks) perform on Paymentology - this will also involveworking with multiple teams withinPaymentology.
• Investigate, identify, andresolve any potential compliance and data protectionbreaches.
• Manage ongoing AML, sanctionsscreening, KYC, and due diligence checks to align withPaymentoogy's risk appetite as well as ensure compliance withrelevant laws, regulations, and rules.
• Whereappropriate, introduce new systems and processes that simplify andimprove ongoing AML, sanctions screening, KYC, due diligencechecks, and data protection compliance.
• Act asa key point of contact to support the business in operating withincompliance and data protection frameworks, processes, controls, andbest practices.
• Completion and ownership of anycompliance related due diligence questionnaires and RFPs.
• Drafting and reviewing any compliance anddata protection policies that are required to meet the businessneeds.
• Implement monitoring plans to assess theefficiency of compliance controls and assist with the enhancementof procedures and controls
• Conducting dataprotection impact assessments.
• Assesssubcontractors who may need to be added to the list ofsub-processors and manage current list ofsub-processors.
• Draft, rollout and ensurecompliance with a data retentionpolicy.
• Responding to data subject accessrequests.
• Drafting and reviewing dataprotection agreements andclauses.

Requirements :

What it takes tosucceed:

You should have at least5 years of experience in a role that has given you hands-onexperience in dealing directly with compliance issues, withexperience at a fintech or challenger bank being a plus. As part ofyour compliance role, you would have also gained in-depthexperience managing a business's compliance with dataprotection.

You need to be an excellentcommunicator, personable, professional (financial clients stilltend to be formal and conservative), and able to empathize withexternal counterparts and internal teams while keeping our businessfront of mind. You need to want to be involved in the business andwork continually with other teams to solveproblems.

A legal grounding emphasizing thevarious laws that Banks are subject to is very important, and amindset to learn and adapt is key. The ability to work underpressure, prioritize, take responsibility, and work to tightdeadlines is key.

Good grasp of UK -GDPR, GDPR,POPI, FCA, EBA, FIC, and other laws affecting the global financeindustry.

Relevant postgraduate degree, with alegal degree beingadvantageous.
