- Comparing and evaluatingoffers from suppliers
- Negotiating contractterms of agreement andpricing
Purchase executive sresponsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating contractsand preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) For this role,you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solidanalytical skills to make sure your identifying the most profitableoffers.
Ultimately, you ll create andmaintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensuremerchandise is high quality and delivered ontime.
Responsibilities
- Researchpotential vendors
- Compare and evaluate offersfrom suppliers
- Negotiate contract terms ofagreement and pricing
- Track orders and ensuretimely delivery
- Review quality of purchasedproducts
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors,quantities, prices) into internaldatabases
- Maintain updated records of purchasedproducts, delivery information andinvoices
- Prepare reports on purchases,including cost analysis
- Monitor stock levelsand place orders as needed
- Coordinate withwarehouse staff to ensure proper storage
- Attendtrade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industrytrends
Requirements
- Provenwork experience as a Purchase executive
- Goodknowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating andliaising with vendors)
- Hands-on experience withsoftware like Tally, SAP
- Understanding ofsupply chain procedures
- Solid analyticalskills, with the ability to create financial reports and conductcost analysis
- Negotiationskills
- Graduate
