Junior Accountant

Sealy Mattress Middle East (Middle East Mattress Factory Co) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our growing finance team in Dubai. In this role, you will assist the Senior/Financial Accountant with day-to-day accounting transactions, reconcile financial accounts, and process client and vendor invoices. The ideal candidate will ensure that our consumer goods retail and wholesale financial operations remain accurate, seamless, and fully compliant with UAE financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & Transactions
• Record and maintain daily financial transactions accurately in the ERP software.
• Prepare and process journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payment vouchers.
• Invoice Management
• Post customer sales invoices and cross-reference with inventory and retail deliveries.
• Process vendor purchase invoices and verify appropriate departmental workflow approvals.
• Reconciliations
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation statements to guarantee general ledger accuracy.
• Reconcile intercompany balances, customer accounts, and supplier/vendor ledgers.
• Reporting & Compliance
• Assist senior accounting staff in gathering documents for month-end closes and external audits.
• Help prepare data and basic computations for the company's UAE VAT filings.
• Support & Administrative Duties
• Identify and flag duplicate entries, incorrect entries, or payment discrepancies.
• Provide data support to management during budgeting and forecasting processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of proven experience in accounting. Prior exposure to consumer goods, retail, or a production environment is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• High proficiency in MS Excel.
• Working knowledge of standard Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software like Odoo.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles, corporate math, and basic UAE VAT regulations.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills.
