Junior Lawyer / Paralegal

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Lawyer / Paralegal to support the Legal function as the business expands in the UAE and internationally. The role will provide day-to-day legal and regulatory support across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and regulators.This is an excellent opportunity for a junior legal professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing, international business environment.

Key Responsibilities Legal & Regulatory Support

1. Assist with legal research on UAE and international laws, regulations, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the business
2. Support compliance with corporate, commercial, financial services, and data protection regulations
3. Help maintain regulatory filings, licenses, and corporate records across jurisdictions
4. Monitor regulatory developments and flag potential impacts to the business

Corporate & Commercial Matters

1. Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing commercial contracts (e.g. NDAs, service agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements)
2. Support contract lifecycle management, including tracking renewals, expiries, and obligations
3. Prepare summaries of legal agreements and key risks for internal stakeholders

Corporate Governance

1. Support company secretarial matters, including board resolutions, powers of attorney, and corporate filings
2. Maintain statutory registers and corporate documentation for UAE and international entities
3. Assist with incorporation, restructuring, and ongoing corporate compliance matters

Litigation & External Counsel Coordination

1. Liaise with external legal advisors and consultants in the UAE and abroad
2. Assist with document preparation and information requests related to disputes, investigations, or audits
3. Help manage legal invoices, engagement letters, and matter trackers

Internal Stakeholder Support

1. Act as a point of contact for basic legal queries from business teams
2. Support the Legal team in implementing internal policies, procedures, and controls
3. Assist with internal training materials and compliance awareness initiatives

General Legal Administration

1. Maintain legal databases, document management systems, and filing structures
2. Support the Legal team with ad-hoc projects related to business expansion and new markets
3. Assist with due diligence exercises for partnerships, investments, or strategic initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent0–3 years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal department (internships and traineeships considered)
2. Familiarity with UAE legal and regulatory frameworks is a strong advantage
3. Exposure to international or cross-border legal matters is desirable
4. Paralegal certification or legal training is an advantage (for Paralegal candidates)

Skills & Competencies

1. Strong legal research and drafting skills
2. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
4. Clear written and verbal communication skills in English (Chinese is an advantage)
5. Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn
6. Comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information
