Junior Master Planner

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly talented Junior Master Planner with 2-5 years of professional experience to support with small to large-scale master planning and urban design projects. This role will involve supporting with the development of master planning layouts including client and authority submissions particularly within the UAE, under the direct supervision of an urban design/ master planning lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of master planning layout studies, diagrams, illustrations and sketches using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Support with master planning and urban design tasks, research and analysis
• Collaborate with other discipline teams such as landscape designers, Architects and Infrastructure engineers under the direct guidance of the master planning lead to deliver fully coordinated multi-disciplinary projects
• Provide master planning creative input and judgement. This will be under the guidance and supervision of a lead urban design/ planning lead
• Assist with developing technical details in the form of planning/ urban design guidelines and numerical tabulations of master planning calculations to support the delivery of high-quality and accurate master planning data
• Support with the production of master plan drawings, reports, and presentations using Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
• Creative thinker in master planning and urban design with a readiness to support with problem-solving to find the best design solutions possible
• Communicate task progress effectively and in a timely manner to the master planning/ urban design lead with compliance to project deadlines
• Supports the team leadership to prepare the submission requirements of government agencies and other authorities across different projects, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to obtain UAE planning approvals

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture or closely related field.
• Experience in producing conceptual master plan designs and illustrative layouts, including basic numerical and master plan calculation outputs
• Ability to communicate progress and master plan updates to clients if needed, with provided guidance and full instruction from team leadership in advance
• Creative thinking and basic understanding of current best practices in master planning
• Proactive and productive attitude with ability to go beyond basic expectations to support team leadership in the best way possible
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in design and numerical software (Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel).
• Ability to perform well in a team, with proactive engagement and sense of ownership on projects
• Proficiency in 3d modelling software (Rhino, Sketchup).
