Job Description - Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Global Data Center

Eaton has approximately 96,000 employees and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries. \n\nEaton is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Global Data Centre Design \u0026 Engineering team, supporting mission\u2011critical data centre projects worldwide.\n\nIn this role, you will shape global electrical reference designs and engineering standards, while working directly on high\u2011impact projects across multiple regions. You\u2019ll support data centre programmes from concept through detailed design, partnering closely with global customers and internal engineering teams.\n\nThis position offers a unique mix of hands\u2011on electrical design and global technical leadership, operating across both IEC and North American standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL). You\u2019ll play a key role in ensuring consistent, high\u2011quality engineering delivery while contributing to Eaton\u2019s long\u2011term data centre strategy.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n### Electrical Design \u0026 Engineering\n\n * Lead and contribute to electrical system design for mission\u2011critical facilities, including hyperscale and enterprise data centres.\n * Develop MV and LV designs, covering distribution, transformers, UPS, protection, and grounding systems.\n * Support all design stages from concept to detailed design across multiple client accounts.\n * Perform core engineering tasks including calculations, equipment selection, and technical validation.\n * Prepare technical proposals and engineering documentation.\n * Lead and participate in internal and client\u2011facing technical meetings.\n\n\n\n### Global Engineering Responsibilities\n\n * Support the development and maintenance of global electrical reference designs and architectures.\n * Contribute to the definition and rollout of global engineering standards and guidelines.\n * Drive alignment and consistency of electrical practices across regions.\n * Participate in cross\u2011regional coordination and peer reviews.\n * Provide technical guidance and mentoring to regional teams.\n * Represent Eaton\u2019s electrical expertise with customers and engineering partners.\n * Support resolution of complex, multi\u2011region engineering challenges.\n\n\n\n### Strategic Global Account Support\n\n * Provide engineering support to strategic global data centre customers across regions.\n * Support development of client\u2011specific reference designs and standards.\n * Participate in technical engagements with customers and partners.\n * Support engineering coordination for large, multi\u2011region programmes.\n * Contribute to long\u2011term technical partnerships with key accounts.\n\n\n\n### Modular and Digital Engineering Integration\n\n * Support electrical integration for modular and prefabricated data centre solutions.\n * Contribute to repeatable designs and reference architectures.\n * Support BIM\u2011led workflows, collaborating closely with BIM and digital engineering teams.\n * Assist in the development of standardised modular electrical platforms.\n\n\n\n### Technical Governance \u0026 Quality\n\n * Review and validate deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.\n * Support QA/QC processes across global projects.\n * Ensure compliance with Eaton standards and customer requirements.\n * Support technical risk identification and mitigation.\n * Participate in structured design reviews to maintain quality and safety.\n\n\n\n### Collaboration with R\u0026D and Advanced Architecture Teams\n\n * Collaborate on new data centre electrical architectures and emerging approaches.\n * Provide engineering input to transition concepts into deployable solutions.\n * Support handover of validated architectures into global reference designs.\n * Provide project feedback to support continuous improvement.\n\n\n\n### Project and Site Support\n\n * Provide remote engineering support and conduct site visits as required.\n * Perform on\u2011site inspections to verify installations.\n * Support validation and commissioning during project handover and close\u2011out.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electrical Engineering required;
