Les Roches, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, is opening a world-class hospitality management academy in Abu Dhabi in September 2024. As part of the pre-opening preparations of the Les Roches Abu Dhabi campus, we are recruiting a Librarian – Student Support Officer .

With more than 97% of the resources online,the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches Library is emerging as aknowledge warehouse and plays a key role in supporting the academic literacyneeds of students and faculty. The Librarian – Student Support Officer plays akey role in locating relevant information efficiently and serves as the liaisonperson to the members of the Academic and the Student Services departments.

The Librarian – Student Support Officer worksclosely with a small team of individuals to provide consistent, dynamic, andexcellent customer service to library and study center users. She/He isresponsible for maintaining a pleasant, inviting, and safe environment indelivering services to the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches community.

Education, Experience and Skills required:

Bachelor degree inLibrary Science or relevant qualification.

2-3 years’ experience in a university level library and experience in a similar role.

Fluent in English (Advanced written and spoken), Knowledge of Arabic desirable.

Excellent IT skills.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize and to meet tight deadlines.

Efficient, well organized,attentive to detail.

The key responsibilities are:

Evaluates the needs of target audiences and recommends changes to the collection (digital and physical resources and equipment) to ensure the collection is relevant, current and responsive to Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches needs.

Creates strong working relationships with the library users (students and faculty).
Assumes regular service assignments at the Study Centre Desk to support users by providing them advice and training to effectively search the library catalogue, databases and other resources they may need.

Oversees digital content including maintaining the visual appearance, organization and accessibility of all library resources online (databases, electronic materials, and the website). Keeps its content and links up-to-date and relevant.
General upkeep of library, includ. loans, reminders, billing, cataloguing, inventoring, weeding, and support to patrons regarding eTextbooks.

Uses the library website, Moodle, and other tools to create discipline-specific digital and print informational tutorials and guides.
Liasise with public libraries in Abu Dhabi to ensure students have access to a variety of academic resources.

Liasise with the Head Librarians Les Roches Crans-Montana and Marbella to ensure students have access to all academic resources.

Provides advice on copyright and licensing issues and produces policies and guidelines for the benefit of academic staff and students.

Implements projects to evaluate usage, improve availability, and assess cost effectiveness of collections and information resources to support continuous development and improvement.
