The client seeks an innovative Director of FacilitiesOperations to support the integrated facilities operations atClaflin College, in Orangeburg, SC. Our successful candidate willhave higher education experience at a Historically Black Collegeand University with construction experience in a universitysetting. This role is eligible to earn the annual bonus andRELOCATION ASSISTANCE is available for candidates who live morethan 50 miles fromcampus.

Oursuccessful candidate will provide strong strategic senior levelFacilities Operations leadership while working with the clients onall matters relating to contract and account operations toestablish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial businessrelationship. Day to day Facilities account responsibilities willinclude providing overall planning, strategic innovation andimplementation, achieving operations and financial goals,establishing and maintaining effective customer/client rapport, andproviding direction and guidance to the Facilities team of managersand employees. IFM operations include Maintenance, HVAC, Plumbing,Electrical, repair, Project Mgt, Environmental Services, GroundsandLandscaping.

AsDirector of FacilitiesOperations at Claflin, youwill:

  • Havehigher education experience at a Historically Black College andUniversity required
  • Haveconstruction experience in a University setting required
  • Developand maintain an integrated, strategically aligned facilitiesorganization demonstrating and supporting a commitment to clientservices
  • Providesenior level direction for all major Facilitiesprojects
  • Directthe daily operations of all areas of the Facilities ManagementDepartment and ensure that all work supports and is consistent withinstitutionalstandards
  • Leadinitiatives to standardize the operations, maintenance, renovationand construction of campus buildings. Manage implementation of theUniversitys MasterPlan
  • Manageoperating expenses, construction projects, major renewal andreplacement projects and secure funding asappropriate
  • Providestrategic leadership by aligning Facilities Management sperformance and its mission statement with the College s culture,expectations, and long-rangeplans
  • Obtainbids for projects and continually evaluate vendor pricing andservices to ensure quality of work and savings for thecollege.

Isthis opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates whohave:

  • 5+years previous director experience in facilities management in alarge, complexHistorically BlackCollege and University required
  • BS inEngineering or other related fieldpreferred
  • Knowledgeof a wide range of trades and disciplines, including Energymanagement
  • Provensuccess providing innovative, out of the box strategies to complexissues
  • Excellentleadership skills, and willing to train and mentorstaff

TheDirector of Facilities Operations is responsible for directingfacilities maintenance operations of building(s) and property at asingle unit. The Director of Facilities Operations manages thepreventative maintenance and reactive repair of skilled trades,e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, utilities; and manages thehiring, training and supervision of staff, professionals andmanagement. The Director of Facilities Operations manages a safeand efficient working environment, essential to the performance ofthe business. The Director may oversee construction work and oftenmanages other core their services, and/or logistics ofbusiness/operations services, e.g., grounds keeping, laundry, food,security, inventory, mail, conciergeservices.



Requirements

1.5+ years previous director experience in facilities management in alarge, complex Historically Black College andUniversity required

2. BS inEngineering or other related fieldpreferred

3.Knowledge of a wide range of trades and disciplines, includingEnergymanagement

4.Have construction experience in a Universitysetting.

5.Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. (Please indicatewhich)
