About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager – Road Tanker Operations to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of road tanker transportation activities for petroleum products, chemicals, or liquid bulk cargo. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet operations while maintaining compliance with UAE transport regulations, HSE standards, and customer service requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in fleet management, logistics planning, and hazardous goods transportation.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet & Road Tanker Operations

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the road tanker fleet to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
• Develop transportation schedules and optimize route planning to maximize fleet utilization.
• Monitor fleet availability, vehicle performance, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with transportation schedules, customer requirements, and delivery commitments.

Logistics Planning & Coordination

• Plan and coordinate the movement of petroleum products, chemicals, and other liquid bulk cargo.
• Coordinate with terminals, depots, customers, and drivers to ensure seamless logistics operations.
• Monitor dispatch activities and resolve operational issues affecting deliveries.
• Optimize logistics processes to reduce transportation costs and improve service levels.

HSE & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with UAE transport regulations, ADR requirements (where applicable), and hazardous materials handling standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce HSE policies across all transportation activities.
• Conduct regular fleet safety inspections and monitor driver compliance with safety procedures.
• Lead investigations into transport incidents and implement corrective actions.

Fleet Maintenance & Asset Management

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for the road tanker fleet.
• Monitor vehicle inspections, licensing, insurance, and regulatory certifications.
• Work closely with maintenance teams to minimize vehicle downtime.
• Ensure tankers and associated equipment are maintained to the highest operational standards.

Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise logistics coordinators, dispatchers, transport supervisors, and drivers.
• Develop driver schedules and manage workforce allocation.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and training to improve operational performance.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Prepare logistics budgets and monitor transportation costs.
• Analyze fleet utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and operational KPIs.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or service quality.
• Support contract negotiations with transport vendors and service providers where required.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, terminals, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable and timely deliveries.
• Resolve customer complaints and operational issues promptly.
• Coordinate with sales, operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to support business objectives.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly logistics performance reports.
• Monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery, fleet utilization, turnaround time, and transport costs.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency.
• Utilize ERP, GPS tracking, and fleet management systems to improve operational visibility and decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet management.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing road tanker operations involving petroleum products, chemicals, fuels, or hazardous liquid cargo.
• Strong knowledge of UAE road transport regulations, fleet management, HSE standards, and hazardous goods transportation.
• Experience with ERP systems, GPS fleet tracking, transport management systems (TMS), and logistics software.
• Valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
