Maintenance Technician - Electrical

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform a wide range of duties related to electrical installation, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and fixtures.Ensure efficient operation with minimal downtime while complying with EHS guidelines, focusing on continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Attend to all electrical equipment breakdowns, including LV-MV motors, LV switchboards, MCCs, plant lighting, transformers, UPS, VFD, breakers, soft starters, etc.Carry out planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance work with minimal direction and supervision.


• Identify and report any abnormalities; repair or replace required items, reassemble, and test equipment, ensuring the work area is clean.Technically assess the requirements of allocated jobs and select the necessary tools and equipment for completion.


• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns and failures of plant equipment with minimal or no direction.


• Utilize the computerized maintenance system (SAP) to order spare parts from the warehouse and maintain records of completed maintenance work.


• Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.


• Monitor repeated breakdowns and recommend modifications to resolve recurring issues.


• Provide plant and equipment knowledge to newly joined electricians, craft trainees, and contractors to assist with maintenance work.


• Continuously work towards improving EHS and plant/equipment performance by participating in 5S, Business Excellence, and Safety Initiatives.


• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or superior.Assist other departments with equipment repair and troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Diploma in a relevant field.Completion of PEC Craft Training.

Minimum Experience:

• 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after obtaining a diploma.


• No experience required after completion of PEC Training.

Skills:Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

• Familiarity with all maintenance tools and good IT knowledge.


• Experience in installation and troubleshooting.


• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, manuals, and instructions.
