Job Description - Manager - Mechanical

Supervise and lead a team ofengineers and designers in carrying out detailed engineering workfor large & medium sized projects assuming entireresponsibility for conceptual to detailed design and providenecessary technical information for procurement in compliance withtender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted cost andproject schedules.
Review of ITT,identification of scope and technicalrequirements
Identifies areas of concern andrisk, and directs the Teams to develop RiskRegister
Critically reviews the sizing anddesign requirements and identifies areas of optimization andpotential cost savings.
Review and moderates asrequired, the equipment cost and man-hourestimate.
Performs Contract Review exercisesand identifies inconsistencies related to scope of work and supply,HSE and technical requirements.
Verify andconceptualize the most optimum work route. Identify a clear scopeof work/supply and accordingly plan/schedule the engineeringactivities and manpower resource. Identify and quantify totalnumber of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, format ofdelivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution ofthe work.
Coordinate with projects and planningon project time schedules, establish target completion dates,ensure target dates are achieved.
DevelopManpower charts and schedules, recommend, assign and distributemanpower for the execution of engineering activities withinbudgeted project man-hours. Recommend cost effective measures toreduce overall manpower costs.
Review andidentify design inputs from other discipline documents such asenvironmental regulations, hazardous area classifications, processdesign basis, project specifications, process data sheets,P&IDs, control system block diagram, piping materialspecifications, electrical and instrumentation specifications forpackages.
Critically review and check allproject deliverables such as data sheets, RFQs, TBEs, PRs generatedby Team.
Co-ordinate and participate in variousvendor discussions for technical and commercial evaluation ofvendor offers.
Administer the preparation ofPurchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment andmaterials. Review vendor quality plans, ensure vendorequipment’s compatibility and compliance with the scopeof client specifications. Coordinate with procurement, ascertainexpedite of materials and equipment tosite.
Perform vendor document review and checkfor completeness, correctness and consistency of comments generatedby the Team and otherdisciplines.
