As a Mechanical Inspector for building construction, your role is to ensure the proper installation, functionality, and compliance of mechanical systems within residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. You will conduct inspections at various stages of construction, focusing on adherence to codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, during different phases of construction.
- Evaluate mechanical plans and drawings to ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes.
- Verify that all mechanical installations adhere to relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Identify and address any deviations or violations, providing detailed reports to contractors, builders, and project managers.
- Collaborate with other inspectors, construction personnel, architects, and engineers to address issues and ensure overall project compliance.
- Provide guidance and clarification to contractors regarding mechanical code requirements and best practices.
- Effectively communicate inspection results to relevant stakeholders through written reports and verbal discussions.
- Attending meetings with project teams to discuss progress, address concerns, and guide on mechanical compliance matters.
- Stay updated on changes in mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical inspection.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Certification as an Electrical Inspector is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
