As a Merchandise Planner, you will support the Planning Manager in implementing the merchandise planning strategy for all channels (Retail, Ecommerce, Wholesale and Franchise) across all countries.
Key responsibilities
1. Business Analysis
Monitor and analyze different channel performance.
Develop and optimize planning tools.
Ensure the reliability of information and data.
Perform ad hoc analysis.
2. Merchandise Seasonal Budget
Build seasonal purchasing budgets for all channels based on financial forecasts.
Collaborate with the Manager on defining the purchasing strategy in line with group expectations.
Present and communicate purchasing budgets to buyers.
3. Budget Review and Reforecasting
Participate in alignment meetings with the finance team before each budget review.
Review and reforecast seasonal volumes based on updated financial forecast and current channels performance.
4. Inventory Management & Trading strategy
Monitor stock levels continuously to optimize inventory and maximize business opportunities across various channels.
Collaborate with buyers on refining buys at size level by channel.
Supports the Manager in proposing various scenarios to commercial leadership based upon inventory turn and promotional activity.
Ensure that promotional plans align with the overall brand strategy and specific channel objectives.
Manage product life cycle through demand creation initiatives.
5. Allocations & Key Events
Own store and franchise allocation quantities and logic.
Build initial allocations for new collections.
Create opening packs for new stores.
Prepare proposal lists for Black Friday, Birthday Sale and EOSS.
Partner with Retail Sales and Franchise teams.
6. Cross Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing teams to plan and execute promotional activities, product launches.
Collaborate seamlessly with Sales and Finance teams to formulate accurate sales forecasts and monitor performance against targets.
Close liaison with Merchandising Buying teams to stay up to date on future product strategies.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
Bachelor's degree in business, Fashion management, Engineer or a related field.
5-6 years of experience preferably in merchandise planning.
Proven experience within the fashion or activewear industry.
Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Familiarity with fitness and activewear market trends.
