Working as part of the HSE department on the project, the Site Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and well being of all personnel at the construction site. The Site Nurse is responsible for maintaining proper first aid rooms, providing primary healthcare services, supporting occupational health standards, ensuring emergency preparedness, and maintaining compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.
- Provide first aid and immediate medical treatment for injuries, illnesses, and incidents that occur on site (cuts, burns, heat stress, dehydration, sprains, etc.)
- Act as a first responder during more serious emergencies (falls, electrocution, heat stroke, accidents) and coordinate with ambulances or external clinics as needed.
- Conduct regular health checks such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and basic screening.
- Monitor workers for heat stress, fatigue, dehydration, respiratory or other health issues common in outdoor -Identify workers unfit for duty and recommend rest or restrictions.
-Keep accurate medical records of treatments, injuries, health checks, and referrals, maintaining confidentiality.
-Report incidents and submit weekly/monthly health reports to management or HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) teams.
-Maintain and manage the site clinic or first aid room — ensuring it’s stocked, clean, and compliant with legal standards.
- Check medical supplies, expiry dates, and equipment functionality (stretchers, wheelchairs, ice packs, eye wash stations, etc.
- Work closely with the HSE team and site management to support safety protocols and ensure compliance with UAE health and labor regulations (Labor Law, MOHRE, DHA/DOH requirements).
- Assist with accident investigations by providing medical input and treatment details.
- Conduct health awareness sessions for workers on topics like heat stress prevention, hygiene, sanitation, use of PPE (personal protective equipment), etc.
- Monitor welfare facilities (rest areas, toilets, drinking water) and report deficiencies affecting workers’ health.
- Coordinate with external medical facilities (hospitals, clinics) for serious cases or follow-ups.
- Serve as the main contact for healthcare providers and emergency services when necessary
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- First Aid and CPR Certification
-Minimum 2–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in: Construction sites Hospitals/ Clinics Industrial projects
