Overview of position:

• The Odoo Developer will lead development projects & manage all technical operations related to Odoo. This includes solving complex performance issues, developing applications to improve productivity, supporting & training users, & collaborating with Odoo partners & consultants.

Role objectives:

Development leadership:

• Lead current development projects for the company.
• Take initiatives to enhance the software development process & manage overall quality.
• Solve complex performance issues & architectural challenges.

Odoo application development:

• Design & develop Odoo apps, including new modules & customizations.
• Analyze scope documents & create detailed requirement documents in collaboration with different teams.
• Re use existing Odoo features to meet scope objectives & create custom modules as needed.

Best practices & documentation:

• Follow best practices in software development to ensure code readability & maintainability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all tasks and work completed.
• Adhere to secure software development practices & source code checking processes using Git Version Control.

User support & training:

• Occasionally train & support users when needed.
• Communicate with Odoo direct or consultants for major support & development needs.

System maintenance & testing:

• Maintain existing Odoo modules & environments.
• Test new functions & modifications to ensure they meet application support requirements.
• Handle configuration, installation & maintenance of server & multi database Odoo environments.

Project reporting:

• This role reports to the Program Manager.

Key competencies:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science with 4+ years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Python programming.
• Extensive knowledge of Odoo modules & development.
• Proficient in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery).
• Experience in the software development life cycle, particularly in an agile environment.
• In depth understanding of Odoo's core data models & features.
• Proven expertise in developing and customizing Odoo modules.
• Experience in migrating Odoo versions & excellent debugging skills.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL & SQL queries.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Excellent verbal & written communication.
• Open minded, curious & assertive.
• Strong problem solving skills & analytical thinking.
• Highly organized with efficient task management abilities.
• Attention to detail & commitment to quality.
