Pastry Sous Chef

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Pastry Sous Chef to support the Pastry Chef in leading the pastry team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, a passion for dessert innovation, and experience managing operations in a high-paced pastry environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist the Pastry Chef in overseeing daily pastry production and staff supervision.

· Prepare and decorate desserts, cakes, and pastries to the highest standards.

· Help develop and test new recipes and seasonal items.

· Manage mise en place, stock rotation, and inventory planning.

· Enforce hygiene, safety, and HACCP protocols at all times.

· Train and guide junior pastry staff and commis to ensure consistency.

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.

· Take charge of the pastry section in the absence of the Pastry Chef.

Requirements

· Minimum 4–5 years of pastry kitchen experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

· Diploma/ Bachelors Degree in Pastry Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.

· HACCP Certified – solid understanding of food safety regulations.

· Expertise in baking techniques, chocolate work, and plated dessert presentation.

· Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills.

· Creative, organized, and detail-oriented.

· Ability to perform under pressure and meet production deadlines.
