Job Description - Pizza Sous Chef

The Arts Club Dubai is perfectly located in the heart of the DIFC, set over four floors and totaling 65,000 square feet, in the brand-new ICD Brookfield Place development designed by Foster + Partners.

It is the first international outpost of the celebrated and historical private members’ club, established in 1863 in Mayfair, London. Pizza Sous Chef ensures the consistent preparation and
cooking of high-quality pizzas by managing dough, toppings, and cooking
processes. They supervise and train others, maintain inventory, and adhere to
health and safety standards. Additionally, they assist in menu development and
collaborate with the head chef to address operational issues and enhance
customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pizza Preparation and Cooking:

    • Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes and standards.
    • Manage dough preparation, proofing, and handling to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Select, prepare, and manage toppings, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
    • Operate and maintain pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment
  • Quality Control:

    • Maintain consistent quality and presentation of all pizzas.
    • Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant’s standards for taste and appearance.
  • Kitchen Management:

    • Assist the head chef in supervising and training others, particularly in pizza preparation techniques.
    • Help manage schedules and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
    • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for pizza ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Menu Development:

    • Collaborate with the head chef to develop new pizza recipes and menu items.
    • Incorporate customer feedback to improve offerings and enhance satisfaction.
  • Operational Support:

    • Address any issues that arise during service, from equipment malfunctions to customer complaints.
    • Work closely with other kitchen members and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service and communication.
What we are looking for: 
  • Proven experience as a pizza chef or sous chef in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong knowledge of pizza dough handling, topping selection, and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
