• Makes sure the clinical areas aretidy and supplies and equipment are inplace.
• Escorts patients between departments andor rooms.
• Helps patients with daily living ifneeded.
• Is adept and knowledgeable with the useof specific equipment used in the specific departmentspecialty.
• Anticipates, recognizes, and managesemergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and reports to theRN.
• If educated and deemed competent, takesvital signs, O2 saturation and blood sugar, and reports the same tothe RN.
• Influences and facilitates changewithin the department to improve standards ofcare.
• Promotes an environment that enablespatient safety, independence, quality of life andhealth.
• Performs all duties in a professionaland confidentialmanner.

Experience

• BasicEducation
• At least 2 years of general hospitalexperience required.
• Previous overseasexperience required but not essential.
• Familiarwith quality improvement, nursing standards, infection control andhealthcare delivery systems.
• Familiar with allpolicies related to department and workenvironment.
• Able to locate all policies andother relevant documents from the Intranetportal.
