Procurement Engineer

As a Procurement Engineer, you’ll oversee the acquisition of materials and subcontractor services for construction projects. Your role involves meticulous RFQ preparation, efficient supplier coordination, and effective negotiation to ensure cost-effective and compliant procurement. Your focus on detailed evaluation, timely reporting, and market awareness contributes to the success of project execution. Ideal for detail-oriented professionals with strong negotiation skills.

• Floats enquiries for sub-contractor’s work based on consultant’s documents. Prepares BOQ, specification & drawings and collects quotations for the same.
• Raises Request for Information (RFI) for any discrepancies in drawings, BOQ and specifications from the consultant.
• Prepares comparative statements for the quotations received and carries out the technical evaluation of the same.
• Determines the phases and steps of a project, defines activities and tasks and establishes procurement schedules to complete objectives on time and within budget.
• Ensures maximum savings for the company by selecting the right product at the right price and benchmarks the product / service with market price and competitive vendors.
• Develops and maintains long term relationships with vendors in order to facilitate and expedite procurement transactions to meet the company objectives. Maintains high levels of service to the end user (PDs)
• Follows honest and ethical practices in all procurement dealings. Maintains confidentiality of information. Protects company image, information and resources.
• Creates various presentations and reports for the department’s requirement.
• Analyzes data and facts to determine appropriate actions or recommendations
• Maintains supplier and subcontractor satisfaction in order to achieve win - win situation.
• Prepare and submit the proposed subcontractor/ Supplier Company profile / material submittal to the site in line with the project standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in in relevant field / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a procurement engineer in the construction industry within UAE 
• Knowledge and network of sub-contractors and vendors related to construction related works 
• Full knowledge of all contractual and regulatory requirements and norms 
• Expertise in contract drafting and management 
• Knowledge in Contracts management. 
• Strong technical background, especially in Engineering or a related field. 
• Knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Power point, Outlook) 

• Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills. 

  DESIRABLE: Procurement-related certification is preferred.
