Product Manager Airport Operations Technology

Synopsis

The Product Manager - Airport Operations Technology, is responsible for defining and delivering technology capabilities that support airport operations across Etihad's global network. The role focuses on Amadeus Customer Management (CM), airport systems enhancements, station start-ups, and operational readiness initiatives.

Working closely with Airport Operations, Digital Technology, vendors, airport authorities, and ground handling partners, the Product Manager will translate operational priorities into a clear product roadmap, manage delivery execution, and ensure technology changes are implemented safely, efficiently, and with minimal operational disruption.

Accountabilities

• Own the product roadmap, backlog, and delivery plan for Airport Operations technology products, including Amadeus Customer Management and related airport systems.
• Lead the delivery of system upgrades, enhancements, configuration changes, regulatory updates, and technology releases across internal teams and external suppliers.
• Partner with Airport Operations stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and translate business needs into actionable product outcomes.
• Coordinate ORAT activities for airport openings, station start-ups, migrations, and operational changes, ensuring technology readiness, testing, stakeholder alignment, and cutover preparedness.
• Act as the primary interface between Airport Operations, Digital Technology, Amadeus, airport authorities, ground handlers, and technology vendors.
• Manage delivery schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, and readiness activities across multiple global stations and regions.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering teams, and vendors to deliver product features, releases, testing, and deployment activities.
• Support UAT, operational trials, go-live activities, hyper care, and continuous service improvement.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, operational constraints, vendor dependencies, and stakeholder issues to ensure successful product delivery.

   

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in Product Management, Technology Delivery, Airport Operations Technology, or Aviation Systems.
• Professional certifications such as CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum Master are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of airport operations and passenger processing systems, including check-in, boarding, baggage management, disruption handling, ground handling, ORAT, and operational readiness.
• Experience managing airport system upgrades, station launches, migrations, or operational readiness initiatives in collaboration with airlines, airport authorities, ground handlers, and technology vendors.
• Proficiency with Agile and delivery tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage complex dependencies and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management capabilities.
