Professor of Software Engineering (m, f, d) - Dubai

We are looking for a new colleague to join our Business Faculty in Dubai on a full-time basis /40 hour a week starting September 2025, who shares our vision of excellence in education and who is committed to making a difference in the lives of our students and staff.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

You should be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of new trends and applications in the field of Software Engineering as well as in teaching students from various cultures.

• Conducting introductory and in-depth courses in the areas of software engineering 
• Planning and implementation of research projects, including publication activities 
• Advising and supervising students 
• Grading student work, supervising seminars, projects, bachelor's, master and doctoral theses 
• Establishing partnerships with companies and institutions for the further networking of the university at the Dubai location 
• Administrative activities and committee work 
• Advising prospective students 

• Several years of teaching experience at universities in the field of Software Engineering or a related subject
• Ability to teach courses in Business related areas is an advantage
• Ability to teach courses in the English language
• Ability to teach courses in German language is an advantage
• Publication and research activities desired
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Organizational skills and eagerness to work together to advance the success and growth of the University 

Requirements for professorship:

• Completed university studies.
• Proof of extraordinary qualification for scientific work in the form of an outstanding doctorate and/or outstanding scientific publications.
• Qualified professional experience in the field of professorship, at least three years, two of them outside of a university.

The hiring requirements for a professorship are based on the provisions of §43 of the university law of the Federal State of Brandenburg/Germany. The award of the title Professor by the University of Applied Sciences of Europe is contingent on the approval of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Culture of the Federal State of Brandenburg/Germany.
