Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Quality Lead Engineer as part of our Engineering team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based full time at our Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

What we can offer
Key Responsibilities:
• Assume full responsibility for QA/QC activities across the assigned project.
• Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the project’s quality management system.
• Develop and enforce the Project Quality Plan, procedures, work instructions, and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Review and approve project specifications and procedures.
• Conduct Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC) in line with established procedures and client requirements, including Material Requisitions (MR), datasheets, specifications, and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Review vendor documentation for compliance and completeness.
• Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and contractual obligations.
• Organize and perform audits related to project, vendor prequalification, and vendor performance.
• Manage nonconformances by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and capturing lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure timely closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and maintain the NCR register.
• Well familiar with risk management principles to proactively identify quality risks and implement mitigation strategies in line with ISO 9001:2015
• Well-versed in ADNOC specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance of project quality practices throughout all phases of execution.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Client’s Quality Representative, ensuring clear communication and coordination on all quality-related matters.
• Lead and manage quality assurance and quality control activities during the engineering and procurement phases of projects to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, international standards, company procedures, and client specifications.
• Ensure quality requirements are incorporated into engineering deliverables and procurement packages.
• Participate in weekly and monthly project review meetings, providing quality-related inputs and updates.
• Participate in vendor Technical Query (TQ) meetings to review, clarify, and resolve quality-related queries.
• Support the project team in monitoring compliance with applicable quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in oil & gas projects, with proven expertise in ADNOC projects
• At least 5 years of proven experience in leading quality functions within large-scale offshore oil & gas detailed engineering projects.
• Certified and registered IRCA Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 :2015
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with international standards (ASME, API etc.) and ADNOC Specifications.
• Strong background in auditing practices.
• Strong background in reviewing and approving engineering documents, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with project standards.
• Strong background in reviewing and approving Material Requisitions (MR), datasheets, specifications, and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
