Role Overview

The Proprietary Trader will be responsible for deploying firm capital across global macro markets (FX, rates, equities indices, commodities) and digital assets (spot, futures, options, DeFi-related exposures where appropriate). The role requires strong discretionary and/or systematic macro experience, deep understanding of crypto market structure, and robust risk management discipline.

This is a performance-driven role suited to an experienced trader with a demonstrable track record of generating consistent risk-adjusted returns.

The responsibilities of the Proprietary Trader will include:

Develop and execute Global Macro trading strategies across:

• • FX (G10 & EM)
  • Global rates & fixed income
  • Equity indices
  • Commodities

• Trade cryptocurrencies across spot, futures, and options markets

• Identify macroeconomic themes and translate them into high-conviction trades

• Monitor geopolitical, central bank, and economic developments impacting global markets

• Manage portfolio risk within defined drawdown and VAR limits

• Maintain detailed performance reporting and risk attribution

• Collaborate with risk, compliance, and senior leadership

• Contribute to ongoing development of trading infrastructure and strategy optimisation

The Proprietary Trader will have:

• Clear evidence of a strong track record of managing at least £5million per annum

• 5–10+ years’ experience in proprietary trading, hedge fund, or bank trading desk environment

• Proven, audited or verifiable track record of profitable Global Macro trading

• Strong understanding of macroeconomic frameworks and cross-asset relationships

• Demonstrated experience trading cryptocurrencies at institutional scale

• Deep knowledge of derivatives, leverage, and liquidity dynamics

• Strong risk management discipline

• Experience with systematic or quantitative overlay strategies is advantageous
