Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects.
  

• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
  

• Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  

• Monitor project costs during execution and identify variances from the budget.
  

• Conduct value engineering and cost-benefit analysis.
  

• Manage change orders and variations and provide cost impact assessments.
  

• Prepare interim and final payment applications and assist in resolving payment disputes.
  

• Maintain updated cost reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  

• Assist with tendering processes and procurement of materials/services.
  

• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and legal regulations.
  

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  

• Professional membership or certification (e.g., RICS, AIQS, etc.) is preferred.
  

Key Skills Required:

• Proficient in cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control techniques.
  

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  

• Familiarity with standard forms of contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JCT, etc.).
  

• Expertise in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Cubit, etc.).
  

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  

• Excellent communication, report-writing, and interpersonal skills.
