Job Description - Regional Sales Manager - Ritchie Bros

JOBDESCRIPTION

  • The RegionalSales Manager (RSM) will play an integral leadership role ingenerating consignments through sales and marketing effortsincluding attracting consignors evaluating and signing dealsmanaging contracts and assisting the field sales staff inattracting bidders and buyers to the Ritchie Bros. sales. Reportingto and working directly with the Divisional VicePresident of Sales(DVP Sales) the RSM will take responsibility for achieving theregional annual Gross Transactional Value (GTV) Commission Revenueand Sales Contribution targets through the development of territorysales managers new business development and key account management.All regional sales staff will report directly or indirectly to theRSM.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inconjunction with the DVP Sales and in alignment with the corporatestrategy plan develop and execute the annual regional business plan(Playbooks) and related sales growth strategies and tactics todeliver annually targeted and longer term regional financialperformance.
  • Work with the DVP Sales theCorporate Marketing team and Territory Managers to formulate andexecute on marketing strategies objectives and initiatives that arealigned with the corporate marketing strategy.
  • Ensure all aspects of deal execution are carried out: price allrisk deals manage deal strategy and approvals balance risk on dealsincluding the consideration of longerterm implicationsresolve/approve value debt issues and participate in thepreparation and presentation of all large customerdeals.
  • Own all customer contracts theircompleteness and accuracy policy compliance timely delivery ofequipment and titles/registrations completion of repair orders andthe execution of all other Ritchie Bros. contractualrequirements.
  • Develop a strong partnershipwith the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) in your region topromote a high level of communication between the RSM and the ROMincluding meeting regularly with the ROM to review overallfinancial performance for the region and develop plans to deal withproblems and issues.
  • Manage the performanceaccountability of Territory Managers and other direct reports forthe region including succession planning career planning andcompensation. Guide and promote appraisal quality and accuracy aswell as maintain set appraisal key performance indicators(KPIs).
  • Serve as the lead in fostering aculture of clear direct communication within the region andthroughout Ritchie Bros. so that roles and responsibilities areunderstood interregion and interdepartmental cooperation isencouraged and employee engagement ismaximized.
  • Partner with the ROMs to deliver aconsistent auction experience to our consignors bidders and buyersby adhering to established auction policies and procedures and bychampioning best practice solutions.
  • Performother duties asassigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aminimum of 57 years of experience managing and/or directing a fieldsales team in a quotadriven businessenvironment.
  • Demonstrated experience inleading and managing sales initiatives and business plans tosupport evolving business goals including delivering and executingsales growth strategies.
  • Strong businessacumen: knowledge of business theory business processes andoperations management principles and budgets.
  • Strong leadership management and coaching skills areessential.
  • A high degree of customer serviceorientation. Ability to build long term relationships withcustomers.
  • Previous experience workingeffectively in a teamoriented collaborativeenvironment.
  • Proven ability to effectivelyprioritize and execute tasks in a highpressureenvironment.
  • International corporateexperience is highlypreferred
  • Note: Applicantsmust possess the ability to travel as needed including eligibilityfor visas in surroundingcountries.
