DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role

The Risk & Compliance Manager / Legal Counsel (META - Middle East, Turkey & Africa) plays a dual role, equally divided between commercial legal support and regional compliance activities. The position supports business by driving legal operations across the region while ensuring compliance frameworks are effectively implemented and embedded across the META region, in close coordination with Group Legal and Group Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Legal

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements across the META region (vendor, resellers, professional services, NDAs, and related contracts).
• Perform contract risk assessments and provide clear, business focused legal guidance aligned with internal policies and risk appetite.
• Act as a legal business partner to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Management.
• Manage pre litigation matters, claims, and disputes with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Ensure consistent use of legal templates, playbooks, approval workflows, and delegations of authority.
• Contribute to legal reporting, internal escalations, and group legal initiatives

Compliance

• Support and help implement the Group Compliance framework within the META region (e.g. anti bribery, sanctions, trade compliance, data protection, third party risk).
• Act as the regional point of contact for compliance matters, working closely with the Group Compliance team.
• Assist with risk assessments, internal controls, and compliance reviews related to business activities.
• Support the rollout of compliance policies, procedures, and trainings across the region.
• Advise the business on compliance considerations in commercial transactions and third party relationships.
• Identify, escalate, and help manage compliance risks, incidents, and investigations, in coordination with Legal and Internal Control.
• Support interactions with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you

Profile & Experience:

• Qualified lawyer with 7+ years’ experience, gained in consulting and/or in a law firm.
• Strong background in commercial law and contract negotiation, combined with hands on compliance exposure.
• Experience working in international, multi-jurisdictional environments (META region experience is a strong plus).
• Solid understanding of compliance areas relevant to distribution and technology businesses.
• Pragmatic, structured, and comfortable balancing legal risk, compliance requirements, and business needs.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English; French and additional regional languages are a plus.
