The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing and monitoring workplace health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment for employees, students, visitors, and contractors. The role involves conducting inspections, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting safety awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and enforce workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of facilities and work areas.
Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, organizational policies, and emergency procedures.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports.
Conduct safety orientations, drills, and awareness training programs for staff.
Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Coordinate fire safety inspections and emergency evacuation procedures.
Maintain safety records, reports, permits, and documentation.
Ensure first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency equipment are properly maintained.
Liaise with external authorities, contractors, and vendors on safety -related matters.
Support management in developing a strong safety culture within the organization.
Monitor housekeeping and workplace cleanliness standards.
Recommend improvements for occupational health and safety practices.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum [2–5] years of experience in safety supervision or HSE -related roles.
Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and risk management practices.
Certification in First Aid, Fire Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred.
Strong observation, reporting, and problem -solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to conduct training and emergency drills effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report preparation.
Preferred Skills
Experience in educational, healthcare, industrial, or corporate environments.
Familiarity with emergency response planning and incident investigation.
Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly.
