For our Dubai office (UAE), we are currently seeking a Defense & Security Sales Engineer based in Dubai with responsibilities in the Middle East and Asia region.
Sales Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Sales Engineer facilitates sales efforts by offering specialized technical assistance to sales executives promoting Embraer Defense and Security. The Sales Engineer also serves as a product expert, delivering technical presentations and seamlessly guiding the sales process.
You will also support sales campaigns with aircraft technical information, educating and translating the product value proposition to the client’s needs. Prepare meetings and visits, aircraft performance analysis, ownership cost analysis, comparative studies, and any other aircraft/company related material. Occasionally, you will also represent the company externally at tradeshows and conferences.
Besides that, maintain detailed records and supply comprehensive feedback on Embraer and competitors' products to the product management department. Drives sales process development and improvement through the customer relationship management system to streamline the sales process and increase success rates.
The operating region is Middle East and Asia.
The Sales Engineer we are looking for is a professional who is curious, creative, flexible, a problem solver and a good communicator. To be successful in this role, you need to be able to build chemistry and generate enthusiasm among the various teams and departments inside the company.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support sales executives with selling solutions to the prospect account base.
- Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
- Translates aircraft technical attributes into tangible benefits that cater to Embraer Defense & Security potential customers’ needs.
- Successfully match customer pain/requirements to proposed solutions.
- Coordinate with the back office to develop and collect the required data to prepare the commercial proposal.
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition.
- Manage all technical aspects of RFP / RFI responses.
- Effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for future product enhancements.
- Prepares comparative studies between the Embraer aircraft and other models.
- Propose and lead sales process improvements.
- Supports the Regional Sales Directors and Business Development Managers with responses to their technical requests.
- Supports Sales & Marketing campaigns and ensures technical aspects are accurately portrayed.
- Participates in sales meetings, tradeshows, events and conferences.
- Flexibility and resilience to work with multifunctional teams at different levels across the entire organization and from different countries and cultures to ensure the fulfillment of goals in the spirit of One Team.
- Creativity to solve complex problems, seeking a better fit of the products in the portfolio to market demands.
PROFILE OF THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE
- BA or BS Degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Aviation Sciences or related fields required.
- A minimum 5+ years of experience in a sales engineering function is preferred.
- Individual Contributor on a functional group
- Aviation experience will be a strong benefit.
- Comprehension, understanding and execution of broad practices associated within the field assigned and related fields. Applies these understandings in the completion of complex work assignments.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word and all other company-provided software program skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and highly dynamic scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in project management
- Interface with Multi-cultural, virtual/remote teams
- Knowledge of Embraer products and services
- Negotiation skills, communication and presentation
- Customer-driven / attitude.

- Excellent language skills in English is a must; affinity with one of the other languages spoken in the EMEA region could be beneficial for the position.
- Regular travel is required domestically and internationally in support of business development.
