JobPurpose

As a licensed dentist, ageneral dentist provides general dentistry services, including thediagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations ofteeth, gums and related oralstructures.

Duties andResponsibilities

• PerformGeneral dentistry services, including the diagnosis and treatmentof diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums and relatedoral structures.

Examine patients todetermine the nature of the condition affecting the patient,utilizing x-rays, dental instruments and other diagnosticprocedures.

Clean, fill, extract and replaceteeth, using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances,medications and surgical implements.

Providepreventive dental services and education in oral and dentalhygiene.

Coordinate laboratory services for thedental office.

Adheres to safety protocols andprocesses including but not limited to ensuring protectiveequipment is utilized and OSHA/Bloodborne pathogen requirements arefollowed.

Participate in morning huddles, chartreviews and routine office meetings.

All otherduties and responsibilities allowed under applicable state laws andregulations.

Knowledge, Skills,andAbilities

• Commitment toquality patient care and enjoy educating patients on dentalhealth.
  

• Effectivecommunication skills; demonstrates professional and courteousdemeanor withpatients.

Qualifications(Experience, Education, Licensure,Certification)

• DDS orDMD degree, licensed in state in which practicing or have theability to obtain licensure upongraduation.

• Current BasicLife Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)certificate.

• Completion ofa general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education generaldentistry residency (AEGD)preferred.
