PositionSummary:

The Youth Services Pop-Up Library Intern isresponsible for providing engaging hands-on experiences in a mobileversion of the Beyond bringing resources to the Schaumburg TownshipDistrict, this position also signs patrons up for Library cards,provides opportunities to participate in the Summer Challengeprogram, conducts programming, and acts as a Library ambassador inthe

Requirements & Skillsfor the Position:

• Maintain the Pop-Up Library schedule;communicate with staff at each planned
• Develop and facilitate hands-on-activities touse at Pop-Up Library
• Develop and conduct weekly story times andSTEM
• Ensure thePop-Up Library is stocked each day, with a variety of readingmaterials for all ages and levels, appropriate for thoseday’s locations, and had ample supplies for planned
• Load and unload thevan with materials: at each location and at the beginning andending of each
• Provide Library information andreaders’ advisory services to a diverse
• Distribute materialsto patrons at each location and record daily circulation
• Sign patrons up forthe Summer Challenge and Library
• Compile statistics for daily, weekly, andmonthly Submit an end of summer narrative
• Conduct patron surveys on their Pop-UpLibrary experience and submit a report on findings with suggestionsfor
• Communicateeffectively with patrons and staff at various site locations, ,apartment complexes, schools, park districts,
• Assist inmaintaining collections, assuring that materials are in goodcondition and, if not, are repaired or
• Work with all age groups

Education and/orexperience:

• Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-yearcollege or university is
• Currently enrolled in a Masters in LibraryScience candidate or similar MA program
• Working knowledge or word processing,spreadsheet, and database applications is

• Ability to read and interpret documents suchas safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, andprocedure Ability to write routine reports and Ability to speakeffectively before groups of customers or employees of
