Job Description - Senior Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions

Role Purpose

To acquire new and manage existing FI client relationships in Asia and/or Africa by identifying selling and cross selling opportunities through the daily analysis and interactions made with clients in order to deliver the targeted growth for assigned portfolio in line with the business plan. This involves maintaining regular contact with FI clients, ensuring compliance with legal documentation, understanding market dynamics, offering appropriate banking products and services, managing credit applications, and contributing to budget discussions. Additionally, the role involves supporting staff development and ensuring adherence to bank policies and procedures.”

Key Responsibilities

  • Access the identified international markets for opportunities in allocated segments as per bank's appetite . Apply for necessary credit approval and book approved transactions. Enhance overall business through cross sell
  • Ensure preparation of compelling proposals that will meet the bank policies and customer needs and negotiate their acceptance
  • Ensure appropriate risk analysis and risk/returns assessments is carried out to recommend timely remedial actions, wherever appropriate
  • Proactively manage relationships with customers and take personal responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of key relationships to leverage business achievement
  • Regularly review account performance and make appropriate recommendations for optimizing returns
  • Ensure compliance with the bank’s approved policies, procedures and norms to protect the organization's and customer’s interests
  • Manage a team of competent relationship managers and their performance to deliver targeted results and high levels of service

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in banking (Islamic Banking is a plus), with a focus on Asian and/or African Financial Institutions (including Banks and Sovereigns)
  • Comprehensive understanding of various banking products, including treasury and capital markets, cash management, and trade finance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain quality & relationships
