Job Description - Social Media & Accounts Manager

An account manager is the link between the client/s and the agency team. Along with their team the account manager acts as both the strategies, ideas and concepts salesperson for the agency and as the client's representative within the agency.

The account manager also leads the agencies strategy and ideas presentation in coordination with the Director and Agency Management, ensuring the ideas remain faithful to the brief and that it is kept within the time frame and budget.

The most important task in account management is to design the brief; a well-targeted brief can be the making of a great campaign. While the work varies depending on the agency, account managers are normally responsible for client budgets, for managing the work of account executives and performing a range of related administrative functions

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Creating a portfolio of client accounts and monitoring the ongoing activities related to them.
  • Supervising, managing and training a team of account executives and community managers
  • Managing, reviewing progress and delivering the client’s deliverables.
  • Conducting meetings with the clients as well as informing them about the current work status of their projects.
  • Establishing relationships with new clients and maintaining and nurturing business relationships with existing clients.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to learn more about consumer behavior.
  • Collaborating with internal departments / team to facilitate client need fulfillment.
  • Resolving complaints and preventing additional issues by improving processes.
  • Identifying industry trends, tapping into them and utilizing them for impactful campaigns
  • Acting as a client advocate with a focus on improving their experience with the agency.
  • Monitoring work performance of colleagues and setting targets.
  • Understanding and communicating that our day-to-day work ties into our clients’ broader business objectives
  • Offering strategic thinking, creative spark, commercial understanding
  • Coming up with and developing creative ideas and brand identity elements
  • Competition monitoring and analysis
  • Preparing clients and new accounts pitching decks
  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of creative and strategic plans in addition to conducting daily status meetings/calls
  • Reviewing, amending and approving social media and digital content
  • Help and supervise structuring this content into calendars
  • Delivering reports, performance tracking & trend analysis to clients (Weekly/Monthly)Delivering reports, performance tracking & trend analysis to agency management (Weekly/Monthly)
  • Work as part of a team through participating actively in brainstorming of ideas and concepts on projects.

Typical activities include:

  • Staying up to date with industry trends
  • Researching for agency needs, Clients’ needs and Calendar needs
  • Generating ideas and selling them into clients and other members of the team
  • Encouraging others to share and explore their ideasDelegating tasks and providing support for less senior members of the team
  • Maintaining high standards and ensuring only the best work is released to the client
  • Collaborating across the agency to drive up standards of digital thinking
  • Client pitch research and preparation

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • An eye for creative content: both verbal and visual
  • An understanding of advertising, digital and social media, and its impact on brand
  • Strong, collaborative yet non-aggressive leadership style, as they ultimately control the agencies use of time and resources, and then present the product deliverables to the client.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and demanding targets.
  • Strong deal closing and negotiation skills.
  • High level of analytical and organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity, initiative combined with commercial awareness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using a wide variety of social platforms in addition to social media, digital and analytical tools
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, in particular PowerPoint/Excel
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken)
  • Proof-reading and Copywriting when needed
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst keeping an eye for details
  • Team Player
