ABOUT THE ROLE

ROLE OVERVIEW

The successful candidate will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary clinical environment alongside surgeons, hepatologists, oncologists, radiologists, dietitians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals, supported by advanced diagnostic facilities, endoscopy services, and modern treatment infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and digestive disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, acid reflux, liver-related conditions, gastrointestinal infections, and functional bowel disorders.

• Perform and interpret gastroenterology procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures within the approved scope of practice.

• Manage patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions through evidence-based treatment plans, medication management, and long-term follow-up.

• Evaluate and manage hepatobiliary disorders, nutritional concerns, and gastrointestinal complications in collaboration with relevant specialties.

• Collaborate with colorectal surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, nutrition, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

• Provide patient counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and disease management.

• Maintain compliance with clinical documentation, infection prevention, patient safety standards, quality improvement initiatives, and international healthcare guidelines.
