We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist General Surgeon to join our surgical team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and surgically managing a wide range of general surgical conditions while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The role includes performing elective and emergency surgical procedures, participating in multidisciplinary care, and ensuring compliance with DHA regulations and international clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and open surgeries.
• Manage conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, abdominal wall, breast, thyroid, soft tissue, and hepatobiliary system within the scope of practice.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative care.
• Perform minor and major surgical procedures according to hospital privileges.
• Respond to emergency surgical consultations and participate in on-call duties.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, and other specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Interpret laboratory investigations and diagnostic imaging to guide surgical management.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, morbidity and mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Supervise junior physicians and contribute to teaching and mentoring activities.
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME), research, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS, Arab Board, FRCS, CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification).
• Valid DHA License or DHA Eligibility Letter as a Specialist General Surgeon, or eligibility to obtain one.
• International board certification is preferred.
