Sr Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• To have single - point responsibilityfor all mechanical equipment engineering (static equipment) designdeliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicableengineering codes and standards as well as the Client'spolicies and procedures
• Provide input to thepreparation of Technical Work Practices (TWP's) andStandards
• Supporting the Planning, schedulingand execution of discipline activities and deliverables, includingmanhour estimating and schedule preparation to support bid /tendering as required.
• To identify any areas ofconcern with respect to progress and / or quality and recommendcorrective actions as required
• To attend weeklyinternal and external progress meetings and generate status reportsfor the Engineering / Project Manager
• To ensureall team members are competency assessed and maintain thecompetency of the team in line with company and Clientrequirements
• Define minimum acceptance criteriaand Undertake pre qualification of thirdparties
• Liaise and engage with Licensors,Equipment Vendors and OEM's as required to conclude theproject deliverables in accordance with the project scope andprovide third party budget costs for stage gate estimates asrequired.
• Define scope of work for 3 rd Partysub contracts as required.
• Preparation ofTender Bid Evaluations and assessment ofbids
• Review of Vendor Documents on DetailedEngineering Projects
• Provide input to EPC scopeof work and EPC Tender Package for EXECUTEstage
• To co - ordinate with other disciplinesduring all stages of design development, construction, pre -commissioning, and start - up to ensure there is no conflict withinthe overall engineering design.
• To providetechnical support to site in terms of material inspection, FactoryAcceptance Testing etc
• Ensure compliance withmanagement of change processes both technical andfinancial
• To provide direction and guidance ontechnical queries relating to mechanical engineering and raiseappropriate EQ's / deviations
• Toparticipate in all project safety and design reviews asnecessary
• To ensure that all work is completedwithout compromise to quality and is delivered according to theproject schedule
• To liaise with theClient's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff asrequired to ensure a consistent approach to project completionwhilst ensuring that the project is concluded within the boundaryof the technical scope.
• Take ownership for RiskIdentification, Assessment, Mitigation, Monitoring and Close Outfor your respective discipline.
• To promote safebehavior at all times
• To provide soundtechnical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problemswithin the discipline
• Promote and encouragesmarter ways of working and champion continuous improvement withinyour department
• Ensure all lessons learnt arecaptured and shared
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in MechanicalEngineering
• Minimum of 10 years of experiencein Oil and Gas industry
• Minimum of 3years' experience in similar role, preferably in UAE orMiddle East
• Offshore experience is must, whilstADNOC experience is desired.
• A specialist anddetailed knowledge of the major mechanical equipmenttypes
• Thorough knowledge of relevantinternational codes andstandards
