Staff Nurse - Bone Marrow Transplant

A registered BMT/Hematology and ApheresisStaff Nurse who provides direct patient care and coordinate patientcare - related activities using scientific process of nursing.Nursing care given to BMT/Hematology / Apheresis adult andPaediatric, allogenic, and autologousPatients.

PositionResponsibility:

•Performsall duties and tasks as per the hospital Code of Conduct and inline with the hospital Vision andMission.

•Accepts additional duties,within the scope of practice in periods of higher workload, andneed s and as assigned by ClinicManager

•Maintain regular working hoursas per the employee contract

•Promotesand participates in departmentalteamwork.

•Identifies and understandsthe objectives of the department and hospital and supports andassists Management in fulfillingthese.

•Actively participates in allquality and performance improvement activities within thedepartment and the hospital as per the Performance Improvement andPatient Safety Program.

•Adheres to allhospital policies, processes, procedures, and standards as outlinedin official documents, employee contract, job description andregulations

•Responds timely andaccurately to all requests and inquiries (effective communicationand assertiveness).

•Communicates in aclear manner including communication through internal mail(electronic and paper) and refrains from using aggressive tones andmannerism during these.

•Respondspromptly and positively to patients, families, co-workers, and allothers in a respectful, courteous, and confidentialmanner

•Maintains open communicationwith all staff throughout the hospital, regulatory agencies, andcommunity.

•Empathetic and reassuringwhen communicating sensitive information and advice to staff.Persuasive and reassuring arerequired.

•Treats all colleagues,patients, and visitors with dignity & respects. Ensurescommunication and working relationships areeffective.

•Performs history andphysical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete,concise, relevant, and appropriate for age, gender, and clinicalproblem.

•Use own initiative and performduties and tasks within assigned period, due dates and in therequired format.

•Promote and contributeto the overall Culture ofSafety.

•Develops, implements,evaluates, and alters the plan of care asneeded.

•Provide direct andindividualized nursing care to patients based on the application ofscientific nursingprinciples.

•Understanding the protocolsof various high-dose chemotherapy agents, Bone Marrow or Stem CellHarvest and its preservation and infusionprocess.

•Understand the differencebetween administering Cryopreserved and fresh StemCells.
