Job Description - Tax Analyst - Snr

ALEC offers its clients a complete turnkey solution with construction, MEP, fit-out, energy efficiency solutions and solar opportunities, facilities management capabilities, heavy equipment rental as well as technology systems.

We are looking for highly motivated and experienced Tax Analyst - Snr to join our team.

The individuals will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Job Purpose:

The role will be responsible to assist the Tax Manager in meeting all tax-related compliances, providing advisory support, implementations of new regulations, and in any other tax related matters such as tax audit correspondence, transaction/ project/ process-based tax queries, process improvements and internal controls.

The appointed candidate will primarily support the ALEC and ALEC Related Businesses, working closely with Department Heads and ALEC’s Finance team to coordinate tax return filings, manage projects and deal with audits. The individual will also be expected to work effectively with external advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing tax compliance processes across the group entities for all areas of tax and including:

Corporate Tax and Zakat

Withholding tax

Transfer Pricing

VAT

Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), and

Country by Country Regulations (CbCR)

  • Support in Pillar 2 compliance.
  • Management of the VAT cycle for ALEC group, including review of VAT entries, reconciliation of the VAT controls and filing of the VAT returns in UAE and KSA.
  • Handling vat refunds, vat registrations and deregistration for the existing / new entities group wide in UAE and KSA.
  • Support the implementation of VAT/ any change to that and e-invoicing in accordance with local legislations of UAE and KSA.
  • Ensure compliance with withholding tax legislations in UAE, KSA and Qatar.
  • Support the implementation of UAE corporate tax law in UAE.
  • Support the implementation of changes in the corporate tax law and Zakat in KSA.
  • Support the implementation of Pillar 2 rules in ALEC group.
  • Support implementation of applicable transfer pricing regulations across UAE, KSA, Qatar, Oman, and UK (if any in Egypt and Ethiopia).
  • Collaborate and maintain a strong relationship with management and stakeholders.
  • To support and provide technical training to employees to ensure that employees abide by tax compliance laws. Ability to support the end users to help them implement the regulations.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and local authorities.
  • Support in reporting intercompany balances and transactions, for related party disclosures in the corporate tax return.
  • Regular review and reconciliation of employee related provisions and accruals for the purpose of corporate tax return.
  • Support in facilitating and improving business processes and projects.
  • Accurately file all direct tax compliance in accordance with country specific requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other related support to the tax manager, business entities or/and management as required.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials in accounting, business, finance, law, taxation or any related essential fields.
  • A professional (tax or accounting) qualification e.g. CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent qualification.
  • A very strong knowledge and experience of over 4 to 6 years in Corporate Tax, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.
  • Good to have a mix of corporate tax and vat experience.
  • A strong knowledge of the following:

UAE and KSA VAT.

UAE and KSA Corporate Tax (and Zakat).

Transfer pricing regulations in KSA and UAE.

Withholding tax regulations in KSA.

  • Work knowledge and understanding of Pillar 2 rules, ESR and CbCR
  • A strong track record of managerial, organizational and project management experience.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluency in Arabic language is preferred.
