Telecom Technician

Supervise the daily manpower allocation and the operations for assigned shift in the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair of telecommunication systems and equipment located on the various plant sites and pipeline network system in order to ensure availability, maintainability, reliability and efficiency. 

1) Organize and supervise the activities and work of maintenance technicians to ensure that all work within the assigned team is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy Provlde on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development

2) On receipt of work assignment from Tebcom Engineer, carry out job planning, obtain necessary work permit indicating nature of malfunction at facility station, obtain spare parts and tools and supervise/conduct activities to solve the issue including diagnosis of malfunction, repairs while informing other sections for non- telecommunicabon related issues to facilitate timely maintenance of systems and equipment.

3) Conduct toolbox meeting to ensure understanding of the daily work tasks. Ensure timely completion and proper close out of the permits for restoring the equipment to normal operation.

4) Supervise and also conduct hands on day-to-day operations of telecommunication maintenance related to plant, network and downstream operational facilities as per department directives and requirements to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards, procedures, codes and practices and that appropriate techniques are used

5) Maintain intemal telephone systems, including diagnosing and repairing faults and reporting major faults for further action Carry Out programming of telephone system as necessary. Lead the connecting/disconnecting, installing and maintenance of cable network as per defined program and operatonal requirements, as directed my runagement.

6) Lead/carryout fault finding on the pipeline network telemety system, to ensure system is operating correcdy

7) Provide specialist advice to Telecom Technicians On a variety Of pipeline network telemetry system to ensure adherence to established quality standards.

8) Carry out software programming for the SCADA and Tekcommunication Systems, flow computers and conduct back up activities and modify hardware and software when required

9) Carry out maintenance and repairs to on site computer hardware, peripherals and software application systems to support continuous operations.

10) Prepare spare parts list for all telecommunication equipment especially critical equipment and issue the purchaseJmaterial requisitions for approval of superior to support timely availability of parts on time and in an accurate manner.

11) Ensure adherence Of self and team with Dolphin Energy's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all assigned personnel.

12) Update the equiprnent data, history and maintenance records in 'CMMS' and SAP system for timely availability of up to date information

13) Perform other simlar or related duties as required or assigned by management.
