Trauma Surgeon

We are seeking a skilled Trauma Surgeon to enhance our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional emergency surgical care. In this critical role, you will be responsible for treating patients who have sustained traumatic injuries, often in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive surgical expertise and a strong commitment to patient care and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate surgical intervention for patients suffering from traumatic injuries, including those from accidents, violence, and other emergencies.
• Conduct thorough assessments, diagnostics, and consultations to determine the best surgical approach.
• Perform various surgical procedures, including, but not limited to, laparotomies, thoracotomies, and orthopedic surgeries.
• Collaborate with emergency room and critical care teams to ensure a seamless continuum of care for trauma patients.
• Manage and oversee the preoperative and postoperative care of trauma patients to optimize recovery outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on injury management, recovery processes, and follow-up care.
• Participate in trauma-related research and training programs to enhance surgical practice and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and surgical procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of general surgery residency and a fellowship in trauma or critical care surgery.
• Board certification in Surgery and eligibility for trauma surgery certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in trauma surgery.
• Expertise in managing acute and complex trauma cases with a focus on patient safety.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure medical situations.
• Current medical license to practice in the relevant state.
